Founded in 2018, MoAD Open Mic has grown into a dynamic community and platform for Black poets in the Bay Area and beyond.

As a contemporary art museum, MoAD celebrates Black cultures, ignites challenging conversations,
& inspires learning through the global lens of the African Diaspora.

Earth in Color combines creative storytelling and nature experiences to strengthen and affirm Black cultural connections to the natural world.

Literary Award

Announcing the winners of the 2023 San Francisco Foundation/Nomadic Press Literary Awards: Julián Delgado Lopera, Danny Thanh Nguyen, Linda Norton, Joshua Merchant, Nia McAllister, Nefertiti Asanti, Vania Luna, Mimi Tempestt, Carla Schick,and Christell Victoria Roach. These incredibly talented Bay Area poets and writers will receive $5000 from the San Francisco Foundation for their outstanding work in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.
